So, a couple of things to emphasize:

Both of these remarkable teachers allowed their students to touch and experience a level of reality that transformed their lives. Miss Tredennick showed me Italy a decade and a half before I set foot in the country. Mr. Lowell gave me the gift of hearing W. S. Merwin read his poems. My life was never the same again. It was the best toy and I wish I could find one for my granddaughter, my very first grandchild. Both of my children loved it and I wish we had kept it, but as yet it has not surfaced. It had a very pleasing, unobnoxious sound and was definitely a favorite. I always thought that would be part of any baby gift I gave in the future, but have been unable to find them.
