I ignore gas prices and leave my car parked on the street while I walk everywhere. It's great to live in a real city, too. I just hope Seattle doesn't start getting polluted with all the "smug" emitted by those hybrid and biodiesel drivers.

I just posted about how everyone wants to blame the big oil companies, so I'm glad to see your complementary post. I'm glad congress is focusing on something besides steroid use, but $100 per person sounds startlingly like another entitlement program. Where are the "Republicans" who control congress? You know, the ones who used to be fiscal conservatives, wanting balanced budgets, and well....capitalism?! This is one step away from the socialist activities of our friend Hugo Chavez.

Drilling in ANWR is not energy policy. It's not even a cure for our oil "addiction." It's just a closer source for our fix. It won't have a meaningful impact on the price of oil because it will be such a small percentage of the world's daily oil ouput. It won't reduce gasoline prices unless more refineries are built. So I think congress should stop wasting their time and focus on developing a meaningful energy policy that has the foresight that the American consumer lacks.
